    Steps to repro (unreliable)
    1.
    Use Chrome 52.0.2743.116m (64-bit) on a Windows NT 10.0 machine (?)
    2.
    Log into Benchling and clone this entry via the clock icon on the right.
    3.
    Double-click in cell D3 of Table1
    4.
    Type a few characters. If you are experiencing the bug, there will be a couple seconds of lag.

    there is a large spike in nodes during the mousedown handler. This is expected: we expand the table to show 30 columns, where each cell takes up 3 nodes.

    During the slow keypresses there are many GC collects / sweeps... this seems unexpected...
    Also, what can cause the key downs to be slow like this? This is before the javascript executes to handle keydown.
